First thing is cost, under $200 including tubes, insulation, water block. Fluid temps -60C to -90C, CPU temps -16C to 18C in the bios. Colder then VapoChill XE about the same as an VapoChill LS. CPU temps in bios -16C to -18C up to -0C after long term benching or gaming. (6 hrs. or more) So colder then VapoChill XE about the same as VapoChill LS on the CPU in the bios. Difference's, first XE costs about $1,000 and the LS $850 second is the sound. The freezer runs almost silent the VapoChill XE is a little loud and the VapoChill LS is really LOUD sounds like a jet when the fans are at 50%.

 

To keep the freezer from freezing solid (which it did a couple times) you can either turn up the

temp on the front of the freezer or use 30% anti-freeze 70% distilled water. 100% anti-freeze

will freeze at -60F and return higher temps on the CPU. I ended up filling it to the step about 6

gallons of fluid. It has a small drain in the corner. But really no way to drain it unless you just

let it drain out on the ground, can't do that with anti-freeze.

 

First start with cutting the outside skin, only the skin you don't want to hit any freon lines. Make the cuts close to the top but far enough down to clear the lid. Either side, I went with the right side only because of where my computer sits.

 

Peel the thin metal skin back carefully clean out the insulation. Keep an eye open for freon lines.

 

Drill holes for the water lines and the electric wires to the pump/s I added another hole later for a 2nd pump. Keep the holes very tight to the sizes of your water lines and pump cord, less air leaks the better.

 

Add two copper pipes 3/8 ID is what I used and 3/8 ID vinyl tubing. I still only had one pump in

this picture. I used expanding foam to insulate around the pipes.

 

Leak test the lines over night.

 

Dual 350 GPH pumps, added a 2nd pump for more flow and colder temps both pump tubes are the same length for even flow. Adding a couple feet of copper tubing on the return line helps cool the water as it goes back into the freezer.

 

Lines insulated and ready to freeze some parts!
