Beast-USA - X9650 Extreme Water Cooling
Intel Core2 Extreme X9650 on a Abit IN9 X38 board. Swiftech 6002 water block insulated with
neoprene. To get started you just need some 3/16's thick neoprene, scissors and a exacto
knife and you are good to go.
Next lay the neoprene on the cpu & socket. Press down on it for a few seconds, now you
should have a nice imprint to cut out. If you are going below freezing you should add die electric grease or artist eraser. Making sure there are no air leaks anywhere.
When your insulating the water block, make sure to let the neoprene hang down below the base about one 1/8 to 3/16's. This way when you attach the water block, the neoprene will be pressed together nice and tight not letting any air in. I didn't use any die electric grease or eraser. On this build because, I will be keeping the temps around 20C cool but not freezing.
Moded and insulated Swiftech 6002 water block, using custom backplate and screws to make up for the extra thickness of the neoprene.
Attached the insulated water lines from the freezer. Remember duct tape, neoprene, artist eraser die electric grease are your friends air is not. Cooling is all done.
